Somatics

Stiff, in pain, or feeling physically out of alignment?

Clinical Somatic Education can help.

Also known as Hanna Somatics, this practice uses gentle, guided movements to target and release chronic muscle tension—getting you out of pain and moving comfortably again.

One on one session by appointment: 50 mins. for $50

Internal Martial Arts & Qigong

At Turning Palm Movement Arts, we teach qigong and the “big three” internal martial arts: Tai Chi, Bagua, and Xingyi. Practice builds balance, coordination, and mobility while lowering stress. Even if your goal isn’t self-defense, a martial focus sharpens your intent and awareness, deeply amplifying these mind-body benefits.

We cycle through these arts and tailor sessions to your needs. Consistency is key, so we encourage regular class attendance and independent practice.

$10 per class. First class is free. Sundays at Azalia Park, 10:00–11:00.

Martial Improv Games

Why Turning Palm

Our Somatics, qigong and martial practices each have their own uniques approaches. They are a perfect compliment to each other and can be practiced together or independently.  Ultimately, you are training your  nervous system how to move better, from a more relaxed place.

While rooted in traditional kung fu training, our teaching approach is modern. Students bring their own experience, knowledge and are encouraged to think critically. We avoid dogma, cult-like structure, and woo-woo. Sequential movement patterns and responsive games can be  great ways to aquirre new skills.
